The past has gone away
And now is all we have
And this longest of all long days known to man
Is turning dim
Some fires are still burning in the night
As we stumble blindly, vainly towards the light

As all excesses are stripped away and burned
After all there's nothing else to do
We have gone beyond the mortal life and found
That there's nothing there

At the end of the day
We're still here
Or at least we think we are
And that's quite enough for a place like this

Who have wandered in these barren lands before

Whatever ailment burdens us today
